Places To Eat in Jakarta.

This is a picture of a restaurant here in Jakarta called Pepenero. It is Italian cuisine and I really recommend trying it out because it has good ambiance, service, and most importantly good food!

There are so many places to eat here in Jakarta. There are local Indonesian restaurants, Japanese restaurants, Chinese restaurants, Italian Restaurants, and so many more! Choosing a restaurant to eat in for lunch or dinner in Jakarta is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do! Not really, but the point is there are so many places and choices to choose from here in Jakarta. So the question is, how do you choose the right place to have lunch or dinner in? Do you just walk into a random restaurant? Well first all, good ambiance and service really seeks attention. Would you want to eat at a restaurant with bad ambiance and bad service? The answer is no. Most importantly is good food. No one wants to eat in a restaurant with bad food. So do you now know where to eat for lunch or dinner?

Rock On!

This is a picture from the Bruno Mars Concert. The crowd went crazy for him!

Over the past month many bands and singers have been coming to Jakarta for concerts. Bands and singers such as Ne-Yo, Far East Movement, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, and Maroon 5. Tickets to these concerts cost as much as two million rupiah! Some might say that its ridiculous, while some might say that it's totally worth it. In my opinion I think it's totally worth it. Its a once in a lifetime chance to watch one of these singers or bands live in concert. These singers and bands definitely bring huge urbanization impacts to Jakarta. The entertainment that they bring in to Jakarta makes Jakarta more industrial and city-like. These concerts could be one of the pull factors for someone to move to Jakarta. Not only that, it also gives jobs to a lot of people. These artists need people to help out with ticket selling and sponsors.

Traffic. What else is new?

Every morning at 7.30 am the bell rings at JIS and it's time to go to class. But what happens when you're stuck in traffic? Everyone knows how embarrassing it is to walk into a classroom late, but what happens when you live in a country where traffic is a constant issue?
Everyday I walk into class pass the second bell and teachers always asks me "why are you late". Traffic. What else is new?
Traffic is an issue Jakarta is constantly dealing with. It's everywhere. I used to get so frustrated when I had to walk into class late everyday, but now I'm used to it. There's nothing you can do but wait patiently. I once considered walking, but one step out the door and you're dead. There are no pedestrian crossings. Cars are not going to stop just for you to cross the road. It amuses me how Jakarta's government isn't even considering pedestrian crossings. What happens if there is a major emergency, like being late to geography class and school is right around the corner? Will you be able to walk? The answer is no. I think that Jakarta's government should consider pedestrian crossings. Not just so I won't be late to school anymore, but it could also help reduce Jakarta's traffic issue. People would actually be able to walk on the roads safely. I would definitely use the pedestrian crossing, and I'm pretty sure many others would use it as well.
